About Robinia

About Robinia

Robinia, also known as Black Locust (Robinia pseudoacacia), is a hardwood species native to Central and Eastern Europe. It is well-regarded for its strength, density, and natural resistance to decay. The Robinia we supply is sustainably sourced from Hungarian cultivations.

Why Choose Robinia?

  • Naturally Durable
Robinia is classified under DIN EN 350-2 as Class 1–2, meaning it is highly resistant to rot and decay — even without chemical treatments. This makes it ideal for outdoor use and ground contact.
  • Long Lifespan
Due to its density and resilience, Robinia products can last decades in challenging environments, making it a cost-effective, low-maintenance option.
  • Rapid Growth
Robinia matures in as little as 30 years, which is fast for hardwood. This makes it a sustainable and renewable timber resource.
  • FSC Certified
Our Robinia is FSC-certified, guaranteeing that it comes from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social, and economic benefits.
  • Naturally Beautiful
With its warm tones and distinctive grain, Robinia offers natural aesthetic appeal. Over time, its surface gracefully weathers to a soft silver-grey, blending seamlessly into natural landscapes.
